LICENCE REQUIREMENTS WITH SLEEP APNOEA
Everything you need to know about how Sleep Apnoea affects your drivers licence.
When you receive a letter from the RMS via mail requesting a Specialist Review for your Sleep Apnoea, we'll need the following documents before scheduling an appointment:
-
Referral from your GP requesting a Telehealth Appointment for a License Review
-
Downloaded report from your current sleep device.*
The Specialist requires the following criteria to sign off on a driver's license when you're using your CPAP machine:
-
A minimum of 60 days' usage (preferably 90 days)
-
90% of usage should exceed 5 hours per night
-
Minimal leakage
-
Apnoea Hypopnea Index must be below 5 events per hour
Once we have both these forms, we'll forward them to our Specialist, who will then reach out to you to arrange an appointment.
